Adopts ‘skills cascading ecosystem’ to prepare youth for industry needs

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Principal Secretary, Skills Development Training Department S Suresh Kumar said the state has adopted the ‘skills cascading ecosystem’ to prepare manpower according to the requirement of the industries and the response is quite encouraging.
He was speaking at a two-day industry stakeholders' workshop, which concluded here on Wednesday. The event was organised under the auspices of Andhra Pradesh Skill Development Corporation, Department of Skills Development and Training. Suresh Kumar said a novel program called ‘industry customised skill training and placements program (ICSTP)’ to train students in the industry premises, where they will train in various courses for 30-45 days and provide employment in the same industry was explained in detail and demand collected from Industries.
He said that in the coming days, not only manufacturing industries, but also IT and service sectors will also take up the training. Advisor to government on fob fairs and training G Sridhar Reddy said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has envisioned imparting the necessary job-oriented skills to the youth of Andhra Pradesh. As on date, 192 skill hubs and 26 skill colleges have been established through the skills cascading ecosystem.
